Tutor Selection Process

The process of choosing who becomes a tutor is highly selective.

Tutors who are interested in working with us can apply on our website. They must answer questions regarding their academic background and teaching experience in order to be considered.
The applications go through a vigorous review by our office team. With everyone on our team being experienced tutors and academic high-performers, we can ensure that only the best are selected.
We invite a limited number of tutors to interview.
The initial part of the interview is a pre-planned lesson which the tutor has to be adaptable with on the day, according to the student's requirements. Our team of assessors is our most experienced and highest achieving tutors.
The second stage of the interview is a self-analysis, during which the tutor is asked to reflect on what they did well and what could be improved in the lesson they gave. This gives us a look into the tutor's self-awareness and their ability to improve their own practice.
The last section of the interview is a conversation about the tutor's teaching approach and beliefs. This gives us a deeper look into the tutor's character and teaching style.
We formally accept tutors onto our books who exhibit great teaching skill and an inspirational, engaging personality. After we run a background check, they are able to start working with our clients.
It is important to us that we listen to client feedback after introducing them to a tutor, to ensure that the standards set are always being met.

We also conduct thorough background checks

  1. Identity Verification

The tutor must go through an ID check to ensure that they are who they say they are and are allowed to work as a self-employed private tutor in the country

  2. Qualification Checks

A Qualification check, to ensure the tutor has authentically obtained the appropriate academic credentials for the subjects they will be tutoring.

  3. Criminal Record

A check to ensure that the person has no criminal background that would make them unsuitable to work as a private tutor.

  4. Employment References

In order to ensure that we are only connecting our students with the best of the best, we always request a Testimonial from an external source. This allows us to get an accurate gauge of the tutor's teaching skills, reliability and personality. Whenever possible, we collect these testimonials from the tutor's previous clients or those who have observed the tutor teaching.
